Black Myth: Wukong, having had just recently come out, is having quite an impact in the Chinese gaming market. As caught by industry consultant Daniel Camilo on Twitter, players in China have been trying to get their hands on a PS5 just to play Black Myth: Wukong. This, in turn, has led to PS5 stock selling out all over the country.
Camilo also notes that the release of Black Myth: Wukong has spurred an audience that otherwise didn’t care about gaming into trying to get their hands on the PS5.
“We’re witnessing a ‘contagious wave’ of consumers who don’t usually care about gaming suddenly being overwhelmed with all the exposure the game is having in China, and buying new consoles,” wrote Camilo.
Camilo has also noted that sales for the PS5 are incredibly high in the world’s biggest electronic market at Huaqiangbei in Shenzhen.
Black Myth: Wukong has also been incredibly popular on PC, having hit an incredible number of concurrent players, while its total launch sale has hit 10 million units on all platforms. The game is currently out on PC and PS5. For more details, check out our reviews on both platforms.
