What are the best Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S games? We’re nearing the end of 2024, and two Meta Quest headsets are dominating the VR market. The Quest 3 exists as a mid-to-high-end VR gaming headset for all while the Quest 3S aims to bring VR into more households for new players thanks to its cheaper price. Regardless of which one you own, there are some incredible games and experiences that you need to try.
Right now, some of the best VR games that you can get started with are experiences that aren’t necessarily brand new, but the arrival of the Meta Quest 3 last year, and the Quest 3S earlier this year, has helped to bolster the interest in these games, while inspiring new creations from developers of all sizes.
With the additions of Steam Link, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and Microsoft Office(yes, really) there is no shortage of updates for the Quest 3 to keep it fresh.
However, when it comes to native experiences, whether you’re looking for an intense first-person shooter, sneaky stealth adventure, or a cozy village game, the Meta Quest 3 has something for everyone.
Here are the best Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S games in 2024:
1. Asgard’s Wrath 2
Released: December 15, 2023 | Developer: Sanzaru Games | Size: 30.39GB
Well, Meta’s big bet on a first-party title paid off in the biggest way possible. Asgard’s Wrath 2 is the epitome of what is possible in VR right now, and it’s best played on the Meta Quest 3, although it is compatible with the 2 and Pro.
Better still, if you purchased a Quest 3, or will do so by early January 2024, a copy of Asgard’s Wrath 2 is already waiting for you for free in the store. A massive narrative RPG, calls for a game of this scale have been loud in the VR community, and it’s finally arrived in style.
2. Arizona Sunshine 2
Released: December 7, 2023 | Developer: Vertigo Games | Size: 11.03GB
A sequel to the hugely popular zombie survival game, everything is taken to the next level in Arizona Sunshine 2, and you even get an adorable – but deadly – animal companion named Buddy to help you survive the apocalypse. You’ll be tracking down patient zero to try and save humanity, even if the hero you portray has some ulterior motives in play.
I recently wrote about how there is a lot more to Arizona Sunshine 2 than meets the eye, thanks to some incredible character development, which is often very hard to accomplish in VR. While Arizona Sunshine 2 is short in its campaign, there is an additional horde mode that keeps you coming back for more.
3. Assassin’s Creed Nexus
Released: November 16, 2023 | Developer: Ubisoft | Size: 15.98GB
It’s not every day that a AAA studio brings a long-established franchise to VR, but with Assassin’s Creed Nexus, we get just that, and it’s quite the adventure.
While not perfect, Assassin’s Creed Nexus does so much to add to an already lore-packed series by allowing you to play as Ezio, Kassandra, and Connor in brand-new memories. A must-play for fans of the console titles, Assassin’s Creed Nexus is also a Meta Quest exclusive.

4. PowerWash Simulator VR
Released: November 2, 2023 | Developer: FuturLab | Size: 2.31GB
The VR edition of everyone’s favorite power washing game is “mesmerizing” according to our PowerWash Simulator VR review, and sees the feature-rich adaptation elevate it to “the only way” we recommend playing the game. There’s plenty of cozy fun on offer here, but you can add friends to the experience for some additional carnage and unbridled chaos if that sounds more up your street than relaxing.
5. The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners
Released: October 13, 2020 | Developer: Skydance Interactive | Size: 7.54GB
An undeniably amazing horror survival IP had to make its way to VR at some point, but Saints and Sinners had no right to be as good as it is on the Meta Quest 3. With a wealth of content to enjoy in-game, the Meta Quest 3 optimized version of Saints and Sinners takes away some of the long loading times and refines many of the game’s visuals.
We’ve never had so much fun while also being so scared. A strong story is supported by fantastic moment-to-moment action and an immersive environment that will have you actually believing your survival is at stake.
6. FitXR
Released: May 21, 2019 | Developer: FitXR | Size: 1.34GB
A fitness game, on a best games list? Absolutely. Whether you’re actively looking to get in some exercise without leaving the house, or just want to gradually increase your daily activity through a wide range of exercise types from boxing to Zumba, FitXR has you covered.
It does require a monthly or yearly subscription, but the in-game classes are always being updated with new content released in steady streams. Don’t underestimate just how useful VR can be to any fitness journey.
7. Gun Club VR
Released: July 18, 2019 | Developer: The Binary Mill | Size: 2.91GB
If you’ve ever wanted to just play around with weapons in VR, Gun Club is the game for you. With plenty of game modes and a great hook for progression, Gun Club keeps things relatively simple, but does the basics incredibly well.
We’ve lost countless hours testing our aim in the sandbox mode and then taking on various challenges to earn more cash to unlock more weapons and attachments. It’s a simple gameplay loop, but effective nonetheless.
8. Beat Saber
Released: May 21, 2019 | Developer: Beat Games | Size: 1.24GB
If you haven’t already played Beat Saber, you’ve surely seen videos of others playing it online. A VR phenomenon in every sense of the word, even if you’re not a fan of rhythm games, Beat Saber needs to be played and appreciated for just how good it is.
Like many games on this list, Beat Saber isn’t new, it’s stood the test of time and continues to add new content to keep things fresh. We love returning to Beat Saber to try and top the leaderboards and give ourselves a little workout in the process!
9. Drop Dead: The Cabin
Released: February 16, 2023 | Developer: Soul Assembly | Size: 2.05GB
Enjoy Call of Duty’s Zombies game modes? Ever wanted to experience it in a far more immersive and terrifying way? Drop Dead: The Cabin is the game you’ve been looking for. This was initially pushed onto my Meta Quest 3 as a demo app before the headset was available and it’s clear to see why. The round-based horde gameplay is incredibly tense, but with roguelike elements, the more you play, the better you get.
It even includes a stunning Mixed Reality mode called Home Invasion, where your surroundings become the game world and you fend off hoards of zombie creatures. A true showcase for what the Quest 3 is capable of, Drop Dead: The Cabin needs to be played to be believed.
10. Little Cities
Released: May 12, 2022 | Developer: Purple Yonder | Size: 687.42MB
Cozy games don’t come much cozier than Little Cities on the Meta Quest 3. Take on the role of a creator as you design your very own isolated world and try to make sure that its inhabitants are kept happy and safe.
Fans of Sim City of Cities Skylines will know exactly what Little Cities is all about, and the recently added sandbox mode added a whole layer of replayability to this already content-deep game. Better still, it was part of the Meta Quest+ subscription service in October, meaning you could have downloaded it for no additional cost if you’re subscribed.
11. Vader Immortal
Released: May 21, 2019 | Developer: ILMxLAB | Size: 2.66GB (First Episode)
This trilogy of games deserves to enter the list of best Meta Quest 3 games as a single entity. A dream come true for any Star Wars fan, this VR game takes you on a journey from being a lowly smugger, to helping Darth Vader with his insidious plans.
Not all is as simple as it sounds, however, but we wouldn’t dare spoil the game for anyone who has yet to play. Each of the Vader Immortal games is available to buy separately on the Meta Quest store, but we strongly advise playing them in order to get the most out of the experience.
12. Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes
Released: May 21, 2019 | Developer: Steel Crate Games| Size: 197.93MB
You might think that co-op or party games would require multiple Meta Quest headsets, but you’re wrong! Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is a brilliant co-op game where the player inside the headset is trying to defuse a bomb and relay crucial info to the players outside who are reading an online bomb diffusal manual.
The premise is simple, yet how well you communicate in pressure situations will determine how successful you are. You can even create some house rules to spice up the action. If you want to showcase how cool co-op VR can be without needing multiple headsets, Keep Talking is the game to do it with.
13. Dungeons of Eternity
Released: October 5, 2023 | Developer: Othergate | Size: 2.8GB
While Dungeons and Dragons is still booming in popularity, if you happen to want a more immersive adventure with up to three friends, Dungeons of Eternity is the game for you.
This action-packed dungeon crawler is easily one of the best action games on the Meta Quest 3 and it’s made even better with friends. You can swing swords, cast spells, and short arrows to your heart’s content, and the new Quest 3 hardware takes away all lag and stutter issues to ensure it’s a smooth experience.
14. Golf+
Released: May 28, 2020 | Developer: Golf Scope Inc. | Size: 7.58GB
One for the sports fans now, as Golf+ is a brilliant simulation of the real game. With a steep learning curve, but plenty of training material, including TopGolf ranges, you’ll bring your game up to speed in no time.
Recent updates have not only improved the visuals within Golf+, but they’ve also added a ton of new gameplay features including a tournaments mode.
15. Resident Evil 4
Released: October 21, 2021 | Developer: Armature Studio | Size: 8.15GB
In what is the only major AAA game to make its way onto the Quest 3, apart from the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Nexus, Resident Evil 4 is a port of the perenially popular zombie shooter.
Resi 4 works surprisingly well on the Quest, but the Quest 3’s improved hardware allows for a smooth experience and reduced loading times, which means you can play for longer before needing to charge your headset again!
16. Vampire: The Masquerade – Justice
Released: November 2, 2023 | Developer: Fast Travel Games | Size: 6.86GB
Ever wanted to roam the streets of Venice as a powerful vampire on a revenge mission? Well, Vampire: The Masquerade – Justice allows you to do just that, and is a fantastic showcase for what games are becoming on Quest 3.
As a 10-15 hour experience, Justice isn’t the longest game on this list, but the depth of quality that it packs in is second to none. Games are getting bigger and better in VR, and Justice is just the tip of the iceberg.
Read our Vampire: The Masquerade – Justice review for more.
17. The 7th Guest
Released: October 19, 2023 | Developer: Vertigo Games | Size: 10.5GB
If you need a shot of nostalgia in your life – or are just a massive FMV fan – a full remake of The 7th Guest should tide you over until an inevitable Night Trap comeback.
In all seriousness, this modern reimagining is a fantastic spin on a notoriously cheesy but very well-received puzzle game. Think you can revisit a title from the early 90s and get by without any help? Give The 7th Guest a go!
18. Ghosts of Tabor
Released: February 8, 2024 | Developer: Combat Waffle | Size: 5.64GB
Ever wondered what Escape From Tarkov would be like in VR? Well, wonder no more. As a hardcore extraction shooter, Ghosts of Tabor broke records long before it was even released.
Now, it’s already subject to major free content updates that will only make the game more enjoyable. Jump on this military sim as soon as you can to beat the inevitable next wave of interested players as word of mouth spreads.
19. Nope Challenge
Released: April 25, 2024 | Developer: Happy Manic LLC | Size: 2.17GB
If you’re a fan of pushing your heart to its limits, Nope Challenge is the ultimate VR challenge. Testing your fears of spiders, clowns, and heights, this game wants to know how much fear you can take before you hit the nope button.
The kind of experience that would have gone viral in a time before VR was popular, Nope Challenge is still a great game to play at a party, and absolutely not to be played alone, at night, with the lights off.
20. Batman: Arkham Shadows
Released: October 22, 2024 | Developer: Camoflaj | Size: 19GB
Meta’s latest big bet on VR gaming has arrived, as a brand new game in the Batman Arkham series has arrived and is exclusive to Meta Quest headsets.
This title stays true to the Arkham formula established by Rocksteady and goes above and beyond to be more than just a passive detective simulator like Batman Arkham VR was.
Incredible combat and intuitive gameplay have a lot of gamers raving about how good Arkham Shadows is, and better still, you get it free with all brand new Meta Quest 3 and 3S headsets for a limited time.
