Split Fiction system requirements revealed as Steam Deck verification confirmed

What are the Split Fiction system requirements? If you were worried about running Split Fiction on your old or budget gaming PC, you can rest easy. The system requirements for Hazelight Studios’ next game are incredibly light, with Steam Deck verification also being awarded before release day.

You won’t need the best graphics card to run Split Fiction on PC, although it might be time to invest in some of the best gaming RAM if your system is still stuck at 8GB. EA has also continued its trend of securing Valve’s approval pre-launch, just like it did with Dragon Age The Veilguard on Steam Deck.

Here are the Split Fiction system requirements:

Minimum (1080p, 30fps, Low) Recommended (1440p, 60fps, High)
OS Windows 10 or later Windows 10 or later
CPU Intel Core i5 6600K
AMD Ryzen 5 2600X

AMD Radeon RX 470
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070
AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT
VRAM 4GB 8GB/12GB
Storage 85GB 85GB
RAM 16GB 16GB

Take our Split Fiction system requirements PC benchmark test to answer the question… Can I run Split Fiction?

The Split Fiction minimum requirements are on the low side even for a modern 3D game, which is surprising given the early footage seen from the game. You’ll need an Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 or AMD Radeon RX 470 graphics card and an Intel Core i5 6600K or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X CPU. One area you might get caught out if you have an older gaming PC is the 16GB RAM requirement, which is steadily becoming the new norm.

If you can meet the above demands, you can expect to run the game at 30fps on the low graphical preset at 1080p. There is no mention of Nvidia DLSS or AMD FSR being needed for this performance level (and these GPUs don’t support this tech anyway), which is a relief after the issues plaguing Monster Hunter Wilds on PC.

As for the Split Fiction recommended specs, these take a considerable jump up, but that is in large part due to them targeting 60fps at 1440p on the high graphical preset. You’ll need an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT paired with an Intel Core i7 11700K or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X. The RAM demands remain the same at 16GB.

The Split Fiction download size is 85GB, and you won’t need an SSD to get the game installed. However, I would still recommend upgrading to one of the best SSDs for gaming anyway as they are steadily becoming a consistent requirement in modern games.

EA made a point of announcing Dragon Age The Veilguard’s Steam Deck verification well before launch, and while it hasn’t gone quite as early with Split Fiction, it’s nice to see this confirmed. The verification itself is no surprise when looking at the minimum requirements, as these are well within reach of the Steam Deck’s hardware.
