MultiVersus already has a two-in-one fighter with Tom and Jerry, who unlike the Powerpuff Girls, are actually fighting each other, given their mortal enemies status. But the Powerpuff Girls have a different impressive trick up their Dynamo Suit sleeves: They have a character variant in the form of the Rowdyruff Boys, a Mojo Jojo creation born of a concoction of armpit hair, prison canteen escargot, and a pilfered dog tail. The boys have their own voice lines, which is a nice, you-didn’t-have-to-go-this-hard consideration.
The Powerpuff Girls and their stinky counterparts are coming to MultiVersus on Sept. 17, as part of season 3: “Sugar, Spice, & Everything Nice.” They’ll be joined by newcomer Nubia, DC’s Queen of The Amazons and the comic book publisher’s first Black female superhero. A destroyed version of The Powerpuff Girls’ Townsville is also en route to MultiVersus.
MultiVersus fans will also spot a new Gremlins-inspired stage and dueling versions of Michael Keaton characters in Thursday’s Powerpuff Girls reveal. We see the 1989 cinematic version of Batman beating up Beetlejuice, which frankly is just a good time for Keaton fans.
